Our Story
Hi, I’m Sophia! I’m a mehndi artist and business owner with over 6 years of experience, and I’m so happy you’re here! I’ve always had a love for doodling and art, and mehndi quickly became my favorite way to express that creativity. I started my journey in 2020 during my first year at UNC Chapel Hill, and what began as a fun opportunity has grown into a business I’m incredibly proud of.
As a second-generation South Asian American, mehndi has been a special way for me to stay connected to my heritage while sharing the beauty of my culture with others. Over the years, this little passion project has grown into so much more, touching the lives of so many. Today, Mehndi by Sophia also leads CHG Charlotte, making it easier to find, connect, and book with a mehndi artist in the Charlotte area.
At the heart of it all, I hope to share my love for mehndi, celebrate my culture, and create meaningful and memorable experiences for everyone who sits in my chair even beyond the stain that will fade.
